Cabbage Butterfly
My home: I am found in fields, gardens of North America, Africa, Asia, Australia and Europe.
What I eat: As a caterpillar, I will feed on cabbage, broccoli and other related crops, but if those are not available I will feed on native plants.
What I look like: I am approximately two inches long and 1 ½ inches wide. I have a black body, white wings with black tips and black spots on my wings.
How I am born: I will go through four stages of development: egg, caterpillar, chrysalis (cocoon), and adult (butterfly).
Fun Facts: The cabbage butterfly originated in Europe and was introduced to North America in the mid-1800s.
